Senior Data Engineer

12-Month Contract | South Kilkenny | Hybrid | Rate: DOE

My client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract with a competitive daily rate. This role is based in the South East, requiring 2 days per week onsite.

The Role

You’ll be part of a seasoned team handling diverse data streams, from internal databases to external feeds. This is a hands-on role, where you’ll create end-to-end data solutions, from concept and design to deployment and optimization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead development of efficient, scalable ETL pipelines across multiple data formats

• Consolidate and structure datasets to be reusable across the organization

• Build visual insights and reporting tools using industry-standard BI platforms

• Optimize and maintain relational databases, ensuring performance and reliability

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into practical data solutions

Skills & Experience

• 4+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer, delivering full lifecycle projects

• Expertise in cloud-based and traditional ETL tools

• Experience moving and transforming data across relational and cloud systems

• Strong SQL skills: coding, optimization, and troubleshooting complex queries

• Familiarity with modern BI tools for reporting and dashboards

• Comfortable working with stakeholders in a collaborative, agile setting
